Kitty Go Here Senior Cat Litter Box Review
A senior cat with arthritis should not have to struggle to get into a litter box. The Kitty Go Here has a 3.5-inch front entry: less than half the height of a standard litter box. Stiff, achy cats can step in and out without any pain or hesitation.

Why the entry height matters so much
A standard litter box has a 5-7 inch front wall. Healthy adult cats step over this without thinking. A senior cat with hip pain or arthritis has to lift their leg high and shift weight onto their other hip to clear that wall. That hurts. Over time, cats start avoiding boxes that hurt to enter.
The Kitty Go Here has a 3.5-inch front entry. A cat only needs to step up a few inches to get in. In testing with a 13-year-old cat who had been hesitating at a standard box, the switch to this box was immediate: the cat walked in without pausing.
The large 24 x 20 footprint also gives senior cats plenty of room to position themselves comfortably. Older cats often take longer to settle into position and need more room than younger cats.
The scatter tradeoff
A 3.5-inch front wall is intentionally low. That means litter can come out the front when a cat digs. This is the main downside of a low-entry box, and it is worth being upfront about it.
The simple fix is a litter mat in front of the entry. A good mat catches the litter that comes out. Senior cats typically dig less vigorously than young cats, so scatter is less of an issue than it sounds. Most senior cat owners find the tradeoff completely worth it.
Stainless steel and senior cats
Older cats often have lower immune function and can be more sensitive to bacterial buildup in their environment. A plastic litter box that holds odor is also holding bacteria. A stainless steel box is non-porous and fully cleanable: better for a senior cat's health environment.
The Kitty Go Here passed our 30-day odor test with zero retained smell. A quick weekly rinse and dry is enough to keep it clean.
What we like and what we do not
What we like
- +3.5-inch entry is accessible for arthritic cats
- +Large 24 x 20 footprint gives older cats room
- +Non-porous steel: better for older cat health
- +Zero odor retention
What we do not
- -Low front wall means more scatter: use a mat
- -Not ideal for young heavy-digging cats
- -Takes significant floor space
Bottom line
If you have a senior cat who hesitates at the litter box, the Kitty Go Here is the most direct fix. The low entry removes the physical barrier. The large footprint gives an older cat room to move. And the stainless steel keeps the whole environment cleaner than any plastic box. Put a litter mat in front and most of the scatter concern goes away.
